MANO is excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the aluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival by co-presenting Crossings & Kinships at Cinecycle on Saturday, October 18 at 9:00 p.m., one of nine distinctive programs at this year's festival.

A man with short brown hair and blacked out eyes raises his right fist in the air.
Still from Arrivance: The Universal Language, directed by Paula Vergara, 23 minutes, 2023.

In this collection of tender, searching films, we are invited into spaces where identity unfolds through journeys—across borders, between generations, through friendships and fragile silences. Crossings & Kinships brings together voices that echo across distance, bodies that carry memory, and lives shaped by migration, resilience, and transformation. Here, kinship takes many forms: chosen, inherited, imagined. Whether through music, voice notes, dance, or shared histories, each story draws a delicate map of belonging—not fixed, but always in motion. These are portraits of connection and becoming, glowing with the quiet power of lives lived between worlds.

The aluCine Festival runs from October 16–18. For more information about the films or to purchase tickets, please visit the festival website, and be sure to check out the trailer!
